In 2023, Robert graduated with a Master of Music degree from the New School as a student of Mark Gould, and currently performs throughout New York City as a freelance musician, composer, and collaborator. In 2019, he completed a B.M. Performance degree at Virginia Commonwealth University under the study of Rex Richardson, Brian Strawley, and Taylor Barnett. Additional primary teachers include Paul Beniston in London, England, and Tim Hudson in Charlotte, North Carolina. He was a recipient of the Gin Robertson VCU Jazz Endowment and Jazz Scholar Fund award from 2017 through 2019.
